Angelitos, La Niñera experta y Niñera S.O.S. son tres programas de TV sobre crianza transmitidos por el canal Home & Health (59 con VTR) que me han llamado mucho la atención. Se trata de ejemplos muy concretos de cómo abordar dificultades serias en la crianza de niños de distintas edades (desde recién nacidos hasta los 10 años tal vez). Los tres programas poseen un formato muy similar, siempre existe una experta niñera (psicóloga o enfermera o institutriz) que asesora, por una semana directamente en el hogar, a los desesperados padres en la tarea titánica de educar a sus niños ..... La experta observa, luego instruye a los padres y eventualmente a los niños, si están en edad de entender. Posteriormente, apoya, en forma indirecta, controlando mediante cameras o con sus propios ojos, pero sin intervenir ella con los niños rebeldes, sino diciéndoles a los padres que hacer para conseguir “educar” a sus hijos.
Algunas lecciones que he aprendido con dichas expertas:
- Poner limites es un acto de amor
- Una disciplina positiva basada en premios más que castigos a veces resulta más efectiva
- Los niños necesitan limites, reglas, rutinas y ser valorados por sus padres... necesitan que le enseñen y lo dejen crecer...
- Muchos padres les cuesta ser firmes porque temen “herir” los sentimientos de sus hijos pero su debilidad en una táctica muy errática que daña involuntariamente al niño y lo inseguriza
- Los niños tienen una flexibilidad y capacidad de aprendizaje asombrosa
- En general casi todos los problemas de mal comportamiento del niño radica en errores de los padres y su estilo de educación
- Un niño es mañoso porque alguna vez aprendió por experiencia propia que al mañosear consigue más atención que al portarse bien
- Los niños a veces realmente manipulan y a los padres nos cuesta darnos cuenta...

hola...soy nueva en tu blog, y me ha fascinado, realmente estas bien informada, y yo también estoy pro-lactancia, y de lo que dices de los programas del discovery healt, alguna vez los vi antes de estar embarazada y si son buenos, me acuerdo que en uno le ayudaron a superar la crisis de los 8 meses a un bebé que no podía ver salir del cuarto a su mamá...

no estoy de acuerdo con tus comentarios sobre la niñera, si abogas por una crianza con apego, no deberías decir que los niños son manipuladores ni que hay poner limites para todo.

Me recomendaron tu blog. Qué bueno encontrar más gente interesada en la crianza respetuosa.
Discrepo un poco en cuanto a los programas que mencionas de Home and Health. Me parece que son métodos autoritarios disfrazados. No está mal a cambio de gritos y golpes, así que es un buen comienzo, si se quiere.
Sin embargo no acepto que traten a los niños como si fueran unos tiranos manipuladores.
Un capítulo de la Niñera S.O.S. me llamó mucho la atención, y por ese nada más desecho la serie completa. Uno de los objetivos principales de la niñera era que la mamá dejara de cargar a la bebé y de dormir con sus hijos, ni siquiera a la hora de la siesta. Según ella esa era la base del problema.
La mamá hacía todo con su hija cargada y la niñera comentó (a la cámara, con voz de regaño) "desde que llegué no ha soltado a la bebé en ningún momento". Me molestó mucho.
Si, es verdad que se pasan con el tema de ser firmes. En algunas cosas me hacen acordar a Estivill: "no debes abandonar, ni equivocar los tiempos porque sinó, el niño te manejará...".
También recuerdo un capítulo en el que un bebé no se dormía si no era con la mamá. La niñera hizo que esta vez sea el papá el que lo contuviera, mientras laa madre esperaba en el pasillo.
Como el bebé lloró durante horas, la madre también, recuerdo que verlo me generó mucha angustia a mi. (y eso que yo todabía no era madre).
Finalmente el niño se durmió...
El tema de irse a dormir es un tema que casi nunca me gusta como lo resuelven. Y los premios esos de estrellitas tontas o bolitas, para que logres que hagan lo que vos querés...la verdad es que es un soborno,bastante feo. (en el cual a veces caigo, pero que pocas veces funciona realmente. Mi hija es mas viva que yo! Je!por suerte)
Esos programas o tienen nada de crianza con apego, muchas veces los he visto pero me quedo :-o la niñera siempre esta recomendando el destete, dejar el niño solo, entre otras cosas. Dulces sueños (otro programa de ese canal) dice que no esta malo dejarlo llorar por lo menos 5 minutos. Y SOS hizo que un papá dejara de colechar "por el bien de los niños". Es totalmente anti crianza con apego.
